The Mexican peso (MXN) is the official currency of Mexico. It is subdivided into 100 centavos. The currency was initially based on Spain’s official currency, called ‘real’, which was the Spanish dollar. The Mexican peso’s name originated from the silver 8-real coins issued by Spain in Mexico.

The South African rand (ZAR) is the currency of South Africa and is issued by the South African Reserve Bank. The South African rand has the symbol R. It is subdivided into 100 cents. The name is derived from the word ‘Witwatersrand’, which means ‘ridge of white waters’. The ridge is where most of South Africa’s gold deposits were found and where Johannesburg was built.
The Indian rupee (INR) is the official currency of the Republic of India and is issued by the Reserve Bank of India. The rupee is subdivided into 100 paise. The symbol of the Indian rupee is ₹.
The Swedish krona (SEK) has been the currency of Sweden since 1873. It is issued by the Swedish central bank, Sveriges Riksbank. The symbol of the currency is kr. One krona is subdivided into 100 öre. In English, the currency is sometimes referred to as the Swedish crown (‘krona’ means ‘crown’ in Swedish).
Introduced in 1850, the Swiss franc (CHF) is the official currency of Switzerland, Liechtenstein and the Italian exclave of Campione d’Italia, and is the only franc remaining in Europe.
The Singapore dollar (SGD) is the currency of the island state of Singapore. The symbol of the currency is S$. It is divided into 100 cents. The currency is issued and monitored by the Monetary Authority of Singapore.
Established in 1966, the Australian dollar (AUD) is the official currency of Australia and several countries and territories, including Christmas Island, Cocos Islands, Norfolk Island, Nauru, Tuvalu, and Kiribati. The Australian dollar symbol is $, however, symbols such as A$ or AU$ are also used to distinguish the Australian dollar from other dollar-denominated currencies. The symbol of the Hong Kong dollar is $, along with HK$, which is sometimes used to distinguish Hong Kong dollars from other dollar-denominated currencies. Hong Kong dollars are also used in Macau, where the local currency Macau patacan is pegged to HKD.
Introduced in 1858, the Canadian dollar (CAD) is the official currency of Canada. The symbol of the Canadian dollar is $, with symbols such as CA$, Can$ and C$ also sometimes used to distinguish CAD from other dollar-denominated currencies.
Introduced in 1871, the Japanese yen (Japanese: 円), or JPY, is the official currency of Japan. The symbol of the yen is ¥, along with JP¥, which is sometimes used to separate the Japanese yen from the Chinese yuan renminbi, which shares the same symbol.

The Renminbi(RMB) is the official name of China’s currency. The principal unit of RMB is called the Chinese Yuan (CNY).
